Biography

Emily Irvine is a multi-disciplinary artist living in New York City. She received her BFA from SAIC in 2012. Emily was greatly influenced by her mentor, Melika Bass, who validated the belief that visceral, tangible objects and themes can transcend form. She performed in Bass’ film Shoals, 2011, as well as crafted props, sets and more for Jerzy Rose’s 2011 award-winning film, Some Girls Never Learn. After moving to New York in 2013, she interned with world-renowned, Basil Twist, Puppet Heap and worked at Charged Studios doing stop motion animation and art fabrication. Emily assisted puppeteer Tom Lee (War Horse) with The Scarlett Ibis Production by assisting with the construction of puppets and costume design and fabrication in 2014-2015. Emily is a Lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage and Traditional Bodywork certified Advanced Thai Yoga Bodywork Practitioner and Owner of Palms Up Bodywork founded in late 2015. Owner/Founder Of Dolly Over Teakettle LLC, which has a product in process for infants using her artwork. Emily and continues to paint and create.
